When clients start their search for a pool installer, they really need to consult a landscape designer before they sign any contracts. The design and build process for the pool should really be seen as a start to finish process that includes the tie-in of the whole landscape plan. All too often, I am called out to a clients home where they were surprised that the 40 thousand dollar investment they made was still 10 thousand dollars from being an actual completed design. Most pool contractors think in terms of getting their next pool in the ground whatever the cost. Details like needing a three- foot wall to make it really finished is all too often  a surprise to the client!!!

Very rarely are you done with the pool when the water truck pulls out of your driveway.  A smarter way to invest in your home improvement is to look at the installed pool with the walls, floors, fire-pits, river-stone, plants, mulch, etc. factored into the entire investment, so as to make informed decisions on finishes and extras to stay within budget and still get all the important elements in the total design.
